Here we go again!
OSHA has promulgated new requirements for submitting workplace injury and illness reports which go into effect January 1, 2024.
Employers that meet certain size and industry criteria must provide 2023 injury and illness data between January 2 and March 2, 2024. Employers are required to submit the data electronically on OSHA Form 301: Injury and Illness Incident Report through OSHA’s secure website the Injury Tracking Application (ITA).
Employers are still required to post the 2023 injury and illness summary on Form 300A in a location where employees can se it. Employers are also still required to report to OSHA fatalities within 8 hours and employee hospitalization within 24 hours.
Exceptions to these reporting requirements include employers whose peak employment during the year was 19 or fewer employees or the industry listed on Appendix A on OSHA’s recordkeeping regulation (Title29CFR1904) regardless of the number of employees working at the establishment.
